We’re happy to announce that Wolf Net Survival and Wild Med RN will be presenting together at the Great Lakes Emergency Preparedness Expo on October 19! The two organizations have joined together to deliver the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote Area First Aid Course. Wolf Net Survival also offers Professional Rescuer / Health Professional CPR, Lay Responder CPR, and standard First Aid Courses. The presentation and inclusion of both of these expert organizations at GLEPE will be of great interest to the attendees of the Expo!
The partnership between Wolf Net Survival and Wild Med RN was formed to meet the education needs of those who enjoy outdoor adventures. The Midwest region of the United States contains an enormous number of opportunities for people to get out and enjoy nature. The goal of Wolf Net Survival and Wild Med RN is to provide high quality outdoor education for both the beginner and the experienced outdoor enthusiast in the Midwestern United States.
Wolf Net and Wild Med RN combine to form a team of experienced educators, medical practitioners and avid outdoor enthusiasts. The founders of these two organizations are both US Navy veterans, career health care professionals and lifetime outdoorsmen. Their credentials include American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote Area First Aid Instructor Certification, First Aid / CPR Instructor certification and Advanced Wilderness Life Support training Through the Wilderness Medical Society.
Because the participants of these programs are primarily outdoor enthusiasts, a rustic venue is offered for the courses. Courses are taught outdoors, in the Manistee National Forest approximately 30 miles west of Cadillac, MI. Campsites are available and hotels are a short drive away from the site. Wolf Net Survival and Wild Med RN staff are also available to come to a location of your choice, through pre-arranged times and engagements. This Wilderness and Remote Area First Aid course will be held in all but the most extreme of weather conditions. Please come prepared for inclement weather conditions.
Lectures and course activities through these organizations are interactive in nature. This fosters a strong learning environment, where participants have the opportunity to learn from each other as well as from the program staff. The programs rely heavily upon action scenarios, where the participant has the opportunity to immediately apply concepts and techniques learned.
As wonderful as the outdoors can be, there is always the risk of experiencing injury or illness in the wilderness. Although nothing can guarantee a safe return every time, adequate preparation and situational awareness are key to a successful adventure. Preparation is also fundamentally critical for those times when the worst case scenario unfolds. Wolf Net Survival provides hands-on training, in rustic and urban settings, to prepare you and your companions for those worst-case scenarios.
Both organizations will have new dates for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer, as follows:
(The above classes will be held in an indoor venue in the Lansing area)
