Be it the end of days or just for a few days, preparation for disaster was on display Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Great Lakes Emergency Preparedness Expo in Birch Run.

While most at the expo voiced concerns about self-sustainability in times of minor or major disaster, within the “prepper” culture some of the fears are bound up in the political currents.
